Favorite Audit Tip

Document, Document, Document! You will not be penalized for “over-documenting” during an audit. Also, when documenting on a prescription hardcopy, ensure it has the four elements of a clinical note: date, specific information being clarified, name and title of person giving said information, and the pharmacist’s name/initials.

In high school, my first job was at the local grocery store chain pharmacy as a pharmacy technician. I continued to work as a pharmacy technician throughout my undergraduate career and while obtaining my PharmD from UW-Madison’s School of Pharmacy. After graduation, I continued to work in the capacity of retail pharmacist for 6 years until I got hired on as an analyst with PAAS.

Independent pharmacy is in my blood. Both my great-grandfather and grandfather owned Rexall stores in northern Wisconsin. I always had the dream of owning an independent pharmacy (with an old-fashioned soda fountain!), but I have quickly found being part of your independent pharmacy’s success story is even more rewarding for me. I look forward to being part of the trusted PAAS team that helps you navigate the waters of the ever-changing world of pharmacy audits and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse regulations.
